Rationel and VELFAC are combining and delivering an expanded range of windows and doors, now all under the VELFAC name
There are some exciting changes taking place within the world of premium windows and doors. Over the coming months, Rationel and VELFAC will be merging their UK brands, with all Rationel products being rebranded under the VELFAC name by the end of 2026.
For homeowners, architects and developers, this means a more comprehensive range of high-performance windows and doors, bringing together the strengths of two established brands under one name.
As an approved supplier and installer of both Rationel and VELFAC products, we are here to guide customers through this transition and help them explore the expanded product range.
Why are Rationel and VELFAC merging?
The decision to bring Rationel and VELFAC together is designed to simplify the brand offering in the UK while creating a more extensive range of window and door solutions.
Both brands are part of the DOVISTA Group and share a commitment to quality, design, performance and sustainability.
As part of the changes, the Rationel brand will gradually be phased out in the UK, with its products becoming part of the wider VELFAC portfolio. This transition is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
A bigger and more versatile VELFAC product range
One of the biggest benefits of this merger is the expanded choice now available under the VELFAC brand.
Previously, VELFAC was particularly recognised for its contemporary window designs, slim sightlines and distinctive timber/aluminium construction. Rationel brought a broader selection of window styles, including more traditional designs and different material options.
By combining these ranges, VELFAC will offer a more comprehensive selection of products suitable for a wider variety of properties and architectural styles.
The expanded range includes:
VElfac Ribo
Previously the Rationel Aura & Auraplus, the VELFAC Ribo is a traditional style window, ideal for both new-build and renovation projects.
VELFAC CLASSIC
Previously the Rationel Forma & Formaplus, the VELFAC Classic combines modern performance with a traditional appearance.
What happens to Rationel windows and doors?
If you're familiar with Rationel, you may be wondering what this change means for the products themselves.
The transition is primarily rebranding, bringing the existing Rationel products into the VELFAC portfolio. Rather than losing the products and designs associated with Rationel, customers will be able to find them under the VELFAC name as the transition progresses.
For existing Rationel customers, the change doesn't mean that the brand's heritage or product offering is simply disappearing. Instead, its products and expertise are becoming part of a larger, more diverse VELFAC range.
